Located 70 kms. Away from Madrid, this artistic and historical city, is a National Monument, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Toledo is a museum city, and has great examples of architecture from different periods and styles, like Moorish, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, that left a legacy of different cultures and civilizations that inhabited on this site, and often lived within its walls.
Narrow cobbled streets, witness the ancient splendor of the city of Toledo.
On arrival we start a panoramic tour, and walk through the old town to visit:
Toledo Cathedral- We will visit the inside of this monumental Cathedral, a magnificent example of the Gothic structure
Jewish Quarter- Later we will continue through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter.
Church of Santo Tomé- Best known for housing the famous mural painting “The Burial of Count Orgaz”, a masterpiece of El Greco.
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca- Synagogue of Toledo, was rebuilt in the thirteenth century from the original of the twelfth century. It was lifted by Arab builders, and considered one of the finest examples of Almohad architecture in Spain.
The Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes – This monastery is an example of Gothic style with Spanish and Flemish influences, and was conceived to be the mausoleum of the Catholic Monarchs, which later changed their plans, choosing Granada as their burial place.
Cristo de la Luz Mosque- In Arab, Bab al-Mardum is the oldest Cultural Heritage Site of Toledo, and one of its best preserved Mosque.
Victorio Macho Museum- Located on a promontory on the Tagus River with its beautiful views. We will also see works of famous sculptor, and an audiovisual presentation on the city (only in Spanish and English).
Sightseeing tour by bus around town, with brief stop to admire the cityscape from the other side of the river, and take pictures. After this, we will then visit a factory Damascene, known “Toledano Art”, inherited from the ancient craftsmen.
