Known as the Plaza del Arrabal, from the sixteenth century, it was the main market place of the town. The first building in Plaza Mayor, was the Bakery House, and in 1617 the architect Juan Gómez de Mora, gave the uniformity in height of all the buildings that surround it, as it is today.
