It was built in the sixteenth century under the rule of the powerful King Felipe II, and conceived as Residence, Monastery, and Pantheon of the Royal House. It became a symbol of the greatness of the Spanish Empire, and has been declared a Historical Heritage. We will visit:

It is an impressive monument erected in memory of those who died during the Spanish Civil War of 1936.
It is located in the beautiful Valley Cuelgamuros, in the Sierra de Guadarrama. This colossal work consists of the basilica, and the crypt excavated in the rock of the mountain.
It is crowned by the impressive cross of over 150 meters.
